Several weeks ago, NEAC (New England Area Conference of NAACP branches) joined an effort to pass legislation in Massachusetts, led by the Mass Alliance Against Predatory Lenders (MAAPL), seeking a moratorium on evictions and foreclosures if the tenants and homeowners have been unable to pay these obligations due to financial difficulties cause by the coronavirus. The bill passed and was signed by the governor.
Those who are having financial difficulty will find the moratorium very helpful. It applies to:
1) tenants
2) homeowners in 1-4 family owner occupied homes
3) small business tenants.
