The U.S. Constitution stipulates that a census of the U.S. population must take place every ten years. 2020 is a census year. Having a full count of everyone is critical to our democracy as it determines how many representatives each state has in the House of Representatives.
Keeping persons of color and other marginalized populations from being counted in the census has been one way that democracy has been subverted by those who wish to retain power.
The Census Bureau is seeking workers to help administer the 2020 census. There are a variety of jobs available. Applications are being accepted NOW.
