Racism and climate change are connected.

Racism and climate change are connected.

Russ Vernon-Jones will help us explore these connections.  Russ believes that deepening our awareness of these connections will empower us to be more effective in eliminating racism and stopping climate change.

World-wide, people of color and indigenous people are already bearing a disproportionate share of the harmful effects of climate change and are also leading the international climate justice movement.  Russ will challenge us to take these issues on together, both locally and internationally, and offer signs of hope for the inclusive, just world we are building together.

Russ Vernon-Jones is a climate and racial justice activist.  He blogs on these topic at www.russvernonjones.org.  He is the lead organizer of the Coming Together Anti-racism Project in the Amherst, MA area; the Chair of the Racism and Climate Change Connections Working Group of Climate Action Now of Western Massachusetts; and a member of the Springfield Branch of the NAACP. He is a speaker, trainer, and coach.
