Save the date and join us Saturday, November 4th for the 2017 Berkshire NAACP Freedom Fund Awards Dinner at the Itam Lodge.

This year we are honoring three extraordinary individuals for their contributions to our community and to the continuing work of ensuring equal rights and equal opportunity for all. They are:

Wray Gunn, President of the Clinton Church Restoration and longtime community advocate. He was the first African-American to play on a University of Massachusetts basketball team, and later the first African-American basketball captain at UMass.

Shirley Edgerton, cultural competency coach for Pittsfield Public Schools, She is the founder of the Rites of Passage and Empowerment (R.O.P.E.) program for girls, the Women of Color Giving Circle of the Berkshires, and co-founder of Lift Ev’ry Voice.

John Bissell, President & CEO of Greylock Federal Credit Union, where their community giving focuses on expanding opportunity for all, and founder of the Pittsfield Promise Literacy Campaign.

The 2017 Awards Dinner includes live music and renowned author and advocate Tim Wise as our keynote speaker. A night of celebration and empowerment!

Tickets are $40 for one and $65 for couples. We are also offering a limted number of table sponsorships for non-profit organizations and local businesses. For $350 your organization is recognized with a table tent, and mentions in the program and at the event, and you have 8 seats to share with your employees and friends. You will also be underwriting a seat for a youth to attend the event.
